We are delighted to have appointed Andrea Kelly as the University of Bath Innovation Centre Manager. Andrea brings with her a wealth of experience and has been part of the SETsquared Central Team for the last five years. She headed up a portfolio of programmes funded by the ERDF and worked in collaboration with the UK Space Agency and Academic Health Science Networks across the South West of England, which supported businesses in sustainability, health, digital and space sectors across the South West, Swindon & Wiltshire.

Keyloop, the global automotive technology company, today announces the individual university winners of the second annual Keyloop Dealer Tech competition. Over 1,000 students from leading universities registered their interest in the competition.

One student, Tom Christensen, from The University of Bath has advanced to the final of Keyloop’s Dealer Tech competition. Tom’s idea was a platform for consumers to compare and recommend the most suitable electric vehicle based on their typical daily routine.

1,000 students benefit from CV boosting business training through SETsquared’s IKEEP Programme

1,000 students have now received business innovation skills training thanks to SETsquared’s Intrapreneurial Knowledge Exchange Enterprise Pathway, IKEEP. The programme provides students across all disciplines and degree levels, with a hands-on opportunity to be ‘intrapreneurs’, and work on a ‘real-world’ innovative idea or project to improve a product, process or proposition within an established company.

Would you dare enter the Den? Student entrepreneurs win alumni grants in the Dragons’ Den

In Round 1 of the 2021 Dragons’ Den pitching competition we welcomed a wide range of innovative student businesses including a sustainable fashion swapping app, wearable tech to help women feel safer when walking or exercising alone, and a system that enables people living in apartments to grow an indoor garden from their food waste. There was particular emphasis on tech and sustainability with many of the businesses themselves geared towards a climate-conscious consumer.

Last month, SETsquared Bath member Claritum announced a collaboration with Canon, a multinational corporation specialising in optical, imaging, and industrial products, at Expo 2020 in Dubai.

Expo 2020 is a World Expo, currently hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022. Originally scheduled to start in 2020, this global attraction hopes to stimulate the development of innovative businesses in the UAE, and enhance the country's international reputation as a location to do business.
