Overview of the Advanced Engineering & Digital Innovation Business Acceleration Hubs
The Advanced Engineering Digital Innovation Business Acceleration Hub (AEDBAH) programme completed on 31st October 2021. The programme was funded by the European Regional Development Fund to help support and grow sector specific organisations in the West of England.
Partnered with Global No 1 Business Incubator SETsquared and the University of Bath linked specifically with the Department for Health and the Institute of Advanced Automotive Propulsion Systems (IAAPS) to help engage and collaborate with innovative small businesses from across the region.
The programme helped establish and grow SME relationships utilising University of Bath academic expertise and business consultancy support through SETsquared pool of talented business experts.
Strategic partners for the programme - Bath & North East Somerset Council, North Somerset Council, Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council supported the programme.

Key outcomes from the programme include:
Outreach targets for the programme were met and we engaged with over 337 companies from the region.
60 companies have been supported to develop new processes or products.
We have put in place 14 MOUs and letters of intent for research collaborations with companies from the programme who have worked or are still working with the University of Bath.
Companies on the programme have raised over £100k in grant funding and with our help a further £2million pounds has been raised by companies on the programme.
To mark the end of the programme an event was held, attended by organisations who received support, key stakeholders and strategic partners.
At the event a short presentation was given about the programme and signposting for further support available was provided. Attendees then heard from several startup companies who showcased their business journey and highlighted how the support they had received through the AEDBAH had successfully helped with the growth of their businesses.
