Member News | RS Components win 'Best Campaign of the Year' award at Elektra 2021 for collaboration with The Washing Machine Project
The Elektra Awards, held by Electronics Weekly, is a ceremony where companies and individuals are rewarded and recognised for their excellent performance, innovation and contribution to the global electronics industry.
Each year, the Elektra Awards attracts hundreds of attendees from more than 150 companies representing every sector of the global electronics industry. The guest list comprises influential C-suite decision-makers and the teams who contributed to the projects and innovations nominated. The global electronics industry sees becoming an Elektra Awards winner as one of the most prestigious accolades a company or individual can receive.
Furthermore, winning your category at the Elektra Awards acts as a third-party endorsement for your company, as it increases your credibility amongst industry peers and positions you as an expert in your particular field – nationally and globally.
The Washing Machine Project’s corporate sponsors, RS Components, won 3 awards on the night, one of which was the Best Campaign of the Year – for launching the global partnership with The Washing Machine Project.
The Washing Machine Project, founded by University of Bath alumni, Nav Sawhney who was a recipient of our Alumni Innovation Award last year, is a social enterprise which provides displaced and low-income communities with an accessible, off-grid washing solution. Their mission is to empower women with the time to take charge over their lives because although hand washing clothes sounds like a simple task, for many women around the world, it poses a significant obstacle to their wellbeing and livelihood. A staggering 70% of the world’s population do not have access to an electric washing machine.
