COVID-19 | Policy Announcement #6

I hope you all had the best summer possible given the restrictions and lockdowns that seem to be emerging daily. It’s been clear for a while that we are in a resurgent phase of the pandemic albeit one where thankfully the level of fatalities appears not to be tracking too closely the accelerating infection rate.

Our plans for re-opening the Innovation Centre are now firmly back on hold given the Government’s current advice to work from home wherever possible. The operational situation is now back where it was in July: The Innovation Centre remains closed for all but essential office usage. Reception remains closed but is operating on a virtual basis and our Hub Programmes, in-residence services and business mentoring all remain available. Please keep an eye on our website for information on forthcoming online events and workshops, notably the Bath Digital Festival which we will be supporting enthusiastically.

During this period, we will be continuing our work to make sure that as soon as conditions allow, we will be in the best position possible to provide a clean, safe and appropriately distanced working environment for all our members, staff and visitors. Until such time that we are able to welcome everybody back to the Centre, we would encourage you to make use of our virtual services and we will shortly be sending out more information on how we are extending these. Meanwhile, keep safe!

IF YOU ARE HAVING TO USE THE INNOVATION CENTRE

From 9th October, access to the Innovation Centre will be via the fire escape door at the east side of the front of Carpenter House (nearest the railway station). Please do not use the main entrance as this is set aside for student use. Please be aware that the doors and fire escape to the west end of the building are reserved for the Covid Testing Centre.

A few things to remember to do:

· Please use hand sanitiser on entry

· Practice social distancing wherever possible

· Wash hands frequently

· Wear a face covering at all times in shared spaces (reusables encouraged)

· Notify reception in advance if you have any visits planned from non-residents

· Do not exceed marked room capacities

· Minimise equipment/desk sharing

· Limit use of kitchens

Thank you to our members for your understanding and co-operation with this matter.
