The Context

Being one of London’s largest landowners, with more than 2,000 commercial units across their estate, Transport for London are proud to support a vibrant range of businesses. With over 31 million passenger journeys everyday, their network is a unique opportunity for many retailers.

As the needs of customers change, physical retail locations adapt and rethink their offerings and often become destinations in themselves!

The Challenge

TfL’s exciting competition challenges businesses to come up with an innovative and technological concept that reimagines physical retail space, meets the needs of their customers, and pushes the boundaries of retail.

They know customers are time-pressed, and with limited space, getting the right offer in place can be a real challenge!

If your solution is up for this challenge, then they want to hear from you

The Opportunity

The competition offers the winner the chance to pilot and test out their innovative concept as TfL will provide them with a retail unit on its estate for a year with a value of up to £100k as the prize.

About Transport for London

“We are the integrated transport authority responsible for meeting Mayor Sadiq Khan's strategy and commitments on transport in London. We run the day-to-day operation of the Capital's public transport network and manage London's main roads.

The services we operate include London Underground, London Buses, Docklands Light Railway, London Overground, TfL Rail, London Trams, London River Services, London Dial-aRide, Victoria Coach Station, Santander Cycles and the Emirates Air Line.

We work to make journeys easier through technology and data. We provide modern ways to pay through Oyster and contactless payment cards and provide information in different formats to help people move around London.

Live travel information is provided directly by us and through third party organisations which use the data we make available to power apps and other services.”
