Time flies! April was a busy month for us. We secured funding for a Surrey student to work with us as part of the Surrey Digital Interns programme this year. We have found a suitable candidate for a Web Developer intern for LabCycle. We can’t wait to see our new website in a few months!

I recently participated in the University of Bath IKEEP programme led by the Student Enterprise Team. The programme is designed for students to engage with industry on knowledge exchange projects as Business Advisors, whilst enhancing student’s business skills. The first part of the programme involved a series of training workshops, from which I learned quite a lot about intrapreneurship. Intrapreneurship is the act of behaving like an entrepreneur while working as an employee. It is quite interesting to learn about this from an entrepreneur’s perspective- it is important to give employee opportunities to develop their own initiatives. Once trained, students can then go on to apply for a placement at a local SME to put their new found skills into action. LabCycle passed the selection process to take part in GradInvest 2021 on 26 May 2021. We got useful feedback from the selection panel and we learned quiet a lot from the GradInvest Investment Campaign Webinar. We have been refining our pitch and getting ready for the actual pitching day! It is an exciting opportunity and we look forward to it!
