Members' Masterclass | Protecting innovation: the value of your IP
How do you demonstrate the value of your innovation to potential investors?
How do you protect your business?
As your business develops and innovates many of your assets are likely to be intangible ones. Such assets include goodwill, brand recognition, business relationships and intellectual property. Many of these can be difficult to value and imperative to protect if you want to be viewed as a credible proposition. Fortunately there is a large toolkit of intellectual property rights that may be utilised to help secure and protect many of these assets.
This Introduction to IP online masterclass will help you to identify and understand your intellectual property and introduce different ways in which those assets can be protected and used to add to the value of your business.
This two hour online workshop will be delivered by our IP-Adviser-in-Residence, David Paton, Partner at Dehns, a patent and trade mark attorney firm based in the UK with offices in Bristol.
David is a European patent attorney and Chartered UK patent attorney. He is also an experienced design attorney. David joined the Intellectual Property profession in 2004 and worked for Intellectual Property companies in London and Bristol before joining Dehns in their Bristol office in 2020. David was made Partner in 2021.
David studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath. You can connect with David on LinkedIn here.
