The 2019 ceremony brings the 7th consecutive year of awards where the SPARKies will be shining a light on the very best people, products and companies that make up the tech sector in Bristol, Bath and the broader West of England region. We can’t wait to attend the award ceremony in Bath on 27th June 2019!

SPARKies Award Ceremony 2019

This year the awards were held in the UNESCO world heritage city of Bath on 27 June 2019 and if you’ve been to the SPARKies before you’ll know that it was a night full of the usual digital debauchery, comedy and community with awards for everything from outstanding tech startups to mentors, hardware, virtual reality and more.

Sixteen categories representing the brilliance of the tech scene in the West were up for grabs - celebrating the entire local tech spectrum – including those wonderful people and companies that work tirelessly to support and grow the cluster

We were extremely pleased to announce that two companies who are members here at the innovation Centre made the shortlist across two of the award categories. 2019 has seen a record number of nominations for the SPARKies and they’ve been some of the highest quality they have ever seen.

Across 16 award categories, 18 Judges have spent 2 weeks carefully deliberating over some of the most creative and innovative projects, companies, experiences and designs – as well as some of the most dedicated people in the region – all deserving of recognition for the work they’ve done to support and grow the South West tech cluster.

SETsquared sponsored the ‘Most Innovative use of Tech’ award. This is for the projects that are pushing the limits of what we can do with data. This can include both commercial or public good projects.

The Winner was the fabulous Zenotech! Bath SETsquared Centre Manager Rosie Bennett and Bristol SETsquared Centre Manager Monika Radclyffe jointly presented the award.

We are delighted to have won the ‘Good’ Award. We developed DoodleMaths so that children, from whatever background, have a chance to develop their confidence and ability in maths. This award is recognition that we are well on the journey to achieving what we set out to do. It was fantastic to be able to celebrate with all of our team up on stage!
