New Appointment for the Advanced Engineering Business Acceleration Hub


The Advanced Engineering Business Acceleration Hub (AEBAH) has confirmed the appointment of Dr Kyriakos Kallis, as the newly appointed Research Associate for the business acceleration programme. The AEBAH is funded under the EU European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and provides free business support to start ups and SMEs in Advanced Engineering in the Automotive, Maritime, Aerospace, Energy, Defence and Space sectors.

This exciting new role involves undertaking technical business development and engagement activities as well as research project development associated with the programme. This will relate to the advanced engineering needs of potential entrepreneurs, aligning and developing collaborative development opportunities with appropriate researchers.

Dr Kallis previous research was focused in the abatement of gaseous and particulate emissions through the advancement of after-treatment systems for automotive vehicles. His expertise lie in the field of thermochemical conversion energy processes and reactors, biomass and fuel treatment, alternative forms of energy, bioenergy, fuels and biofuels.

Dr Kallis general research interests lie within the Chemical Engineering and Automotive industries and include topics such as the exhaust emissions, the catalytic exhaust after-treatment systems and the thermochemical processes that involve energy production and chemicals as well as research involving thermal, fluid and chemical phenomena.

The role is fixed term for 18 months and Dr Kallis will be aligned with the Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Bath.

The AEBAH is already working with a number of organisations providing bespoke business support and research collaborations through academics at the University of Bath. In his new role Dr. Kallis will help develop those relationships and identify appropriate research and development opportunities.
