Hargreaves Lansdown has opened its nominations for their annual mentor award so if you have had a mentor you would like to shout about then ensure you submit your nomination by 31st December 2018. One of the criteria is a focus on inclusion and diversity which CEO Chris Hill believes is achievable through mentorship.

We are something of a rarity in that we have an equal number of women and men on our Board. However, like many other financial services and technology driven businesses, we have much to do to improve diversity in other parts of the business. Mentoring is just one way in which we are working to do this.
— Chris Hill – CEO Hargreaves Lansdown

These awards recognise organisations and people who have been inspired, developed themselves and improved their workplace through mentoring, either as a mentor or mentee. They’ll usually have made things better or be outstanding at what they do.

About the awards

The awards are open to organisations and individuals living and working in the South West, from the private, public and voluntary sectors and individuals. Please note a person can only be nominated in a maximum of two categories.

We’ll acknowledge all nominations, and nominees may be contacted with further questions or asked to attend a judging interview.

We’ll then create a shortlist, from which an expert panel of judges will decide the winners in each category. Judges will take into account the overall quality of the submission and will be looking for specific criteria for each award.
