Nalin Patel, PitchBook Lead Analyst

Nalin is a lead private capital research analyst at PitchBook, where he oversees a team of analysts covering private markets in the EMEA region. Prior to joining PitchBook, Patel was an analyst at Goldman Sachs in London, conducting due diligence for investment banking transactions. Patel’s coverage included the Merchant Banking Division and European Special Situations Group, where he focused on private equity, venture capital, and debt transactions, as well as investments in startups, real estate, technology, and growth capital.

Marty Reid, SETsquared Interim Executive Director

Marty is SETsquared Partnership's Interim Executive Director and leads the dynamic collaboration between the six leading research-led UK universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Southampton, and Surrey. Previously, Marty was a prominent figure in the South West innovation ecosystem, leading Engine Shed and SETsquared Bristol, and prior to that was Centre Director for Bristol Innovation Hub, Future Space. He worked at Rolls-Royce in roles spanning business and technology strategy, global account management, and service delivery.

Serena Giaminardi, SETsquared Head of Programmes & Investment

Serena works across multiple teams and projects to design and deliver support programmes, investment showcases, upskilling courses, and workshops for students, founders, and innovators. She sits on judging panels, mentors entrepreneurs on business model design and testing, and works with key stakeholders to deliver programmes that create real impact. Before joining SETsquared in 2013, Serena worked for a consultancy firm specialising in management, and she was one of the founding members of a commercial start-up in Italy.
