Dragons’ Den Round 2

Pitch to our Dragons for the chance to win up to £5,000 for the development of your business

As part of the Entrepreneurship Programme of enterprise events at the university, SETsquared Bath’s Dragons’ Den pitching competition gives students the opportunity to pitch to our Dragons (Bath alumni) for the chance to win direct investment into their start-ups.

Round 1 was designed for proof of concept/market validation pitches and Round 2 is your chance to pitch for money to help with the development of your business.

The competition is open to undergraduates and postgraduates only.

PITCHING DAY 30 MARCH 2022

ROUND 2 INFORMATION (Feb - March 2022)

In Semester 2, our second round of investment increases, with students able to pitch for up to £5,000. As in Round 1 there is absolutely no limit on winners! You can enter Round 2 without previously having entered the first round, however judges will be looking to see that you have already taken steps to prove the concept of your business and carried out market validation. Is your business needed? Where is the evidence? Did you ask the public? How? We recommend evidencing this in your application if you were not seen in Round 1.

How to apply for Dragons’ Den Round 2

To enter Round 2, entrants must:

  • Submit a business plan via Jotform (the platform we use for all business plan submissions)

  • record a 1 minute video pitch with your ‘ask’ (remembering that Round 2 is for investment for the development phase of your business not for proof of concept)

  • Complete an application form

If you don’t know how to write a business plan you should sign up to our Business Plan Writing Workshops that run from 26/01/22 - 16/02/22. Visit our events calendar to register for the workshops or request to join our Teams group if you missed the workshops and would like to watch the recordings and access resources.

Once you have sent in your application, pitch video and your business plan we will then consider the businesses to shortlist into the Dragons’ Den. If successful you will be notified and asked to attend a pitching day where you pitch in a room to the Dragons. Please note that you pitch privately, candidates do not watch each other’s pitches.

PITCHING DAY FOR SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES IS SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY 30TH MARCH 2022.
