Emergency Procedures
Ground Floor Carpenter House
Fire Assembly Point:
Assemble outside Future (opposite Avon Street car park)
First Aid Box:
Kitchen Cupboard (ground floor), Defibrillator kitchen cupboard (ground floor)
Security:
All Security Officers are trained in First Aid and available 24 hours a day. Dial ext. 666 internally for an emergency but please note there are not Security Officers based at Carpenter House permanently.
For other non-emergencies please dial ext. 5349 internally or 01225 385349 externally.
In an Emergency
Dial 999 for the Police/Fire/Ambulance. In the event of a fire, raise the alarm by breaking the glass of a call point and evacuate the building.
Please inform Security by calling ext. 666 internally or 01225 383999 externally so they can direct the emergency services correctly.
N.B The fire alarm is tested each Wednesday, at any other time please follow the evacuation procedure.
Evacuation Procedure
When the alarm sounds:
Stop what you are doing immediately. Leave the building quickly and calmly by the nearest emergency exit, closing windows and doors behind you. Do not collect belongings. Do not use the lift!
Move well away from the building to the designated assembly point which is the southwest corner near Future, opposite Avon Street car park.
Do not attempt to re-enter the building until the all clear has been given by the emergency services and you are authorised by the Fire Safety Warden and by Security staff.
People with Disabilities
Disabled persons who cannot evacuate the building without assistance must have their location reported to Security on 01225 385349 for non-emergency or on 01225 383999 (ext. 666) and the Fire Service (999) for assisted evacuation.
Reporting of Incidents
If there is an accident or incident in the University of Bath Innovation Centre, please report it to Reception and to Security on 01225 385349.
