BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION 2019/2020

The University of Bath Business Plan Competition runs over 3 rounds; Idea, Plan, and Pitch. It is open to undergraduates and postgraduates across all University of Bath Departments. Whether you’ve already founded a start-up or you just have an idea you’d like to test out, you can take part in the competition. As much as we love entrants to seriously consider taking their businesses forward, the competition In addition to this, it is not necessary to enter all rounds to progress through the competition, however it is recommended that you submit an entry at the ideas stage so that you can take part in speed-dating to be paired with one of our mentors. This will help students to develop a cohesive and workable business plan to deliver to a stellar panel of judges at the final.

SPEED DATING

In this exciting round students and mentors will spend 5 minutes with each other before moving on, in a speed dating style scenario. After this they will mark down the student/mentor they would prefer to work with and, based on these preferences and the compatibility of the student’s business idea and mentor’s field of expertise, students and mentors will be matched up for the rest of the Business Plan Competition (and beyond). This will allow them to develop a professional working relationship in which the mentor will guide the student through the process of formulating a business plan and preparing a pitch for the final.

Please note students are required to submit an idea before taking part.
