What is IKEEP all about?

AN INTRAPRENEUR WORKS INSIDE A COMPANY TO DEVELOP AN INNOVATIVE IDEA OR PROJECT THAT WILL ENHANCE THE COMPANY'S FUTURE.

Would you like the chance to receive professional training, gain real-world industry experience and test your intrapreneurial skills?

The IKEEP programme will give you access to fully funded training in a wide range of business areas including:

●      Business models

●      Critical thinking

●      Effective communication

●      Problem solving and more!

Once you’ve completed your training, you’ll have the opportunity to take your new skills and apply for a remote placement where you will help a business solve a challenge they’re facing or tackle a project they haven’t had the time or resources to undertake themselves.

You’ll form a mixed team of three undergraduates and postgraduates from different disciplines to tackle a project brief that interests you – whether that’s analysing a business model, crafting a successful marketing campaign or solving a logistics problem.

Projects last four weeks, and you’ll join the business on a remote, part-time or flexible basis. The best part is, as well as all the CV boosting knowledge and experience you will gain, every student who successfully completes an IKEEP business project is given a £450 stipend as well as SETsquared accredited digital badges for your LinkedIn profile and CV.

Can it help boost my employability?

The IKEEP programme is designed for students to engage with industry as business advisors. Working in teams of three, you will be developing business model solutions and market awareness whilst enhancing your skills as an intrapreneur and future employee.

The aim of IKEEP is for you to gain sought-after intrapreneurship skills and insights demanded by employers through working in small teams with a broad range of companies and other organisations, all within the local economy.

The focus on real world and real company innovation problems structured around challenge-based themes will support not only skills development, but also the practical application of theory, peer-to-peer learning and provide key professional experience that can be applied to your studies, research projects and for entry into employment, potentially within the local economy.

Students will be expected to commit to an online training module (up to 10 hours) and if you would like to complete Stage 2, a 4-week part time placement at a local company. The best part? You get to choose the placement you would like to undertake and will only be offered a placement at one of your top choices. Placements will be remote until further notice. You do not have to take part in Stage 2 (placement stage) you can just complete the training module and still receive a badge.

Whilst on a placement you will be working collaboratively in teams of three on a single project drawn up by the company. Your team of 3 might consist of students from different degree subjects and could be undergraduates and/or postgraduates so there will be a lot to learn from this programme and we hope you will finish your placement with new friends too!

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

  • Intrapreneurial and employability training workshops (Stage 1)

  • Resources and tools

  • Placements at companies in the region (Stage 2 - not compulsory)

  • Work in teams of 3 on a specific project utilising your skills (remotely for now)

  • £450 stipend for each student who completes the training and placement

  • Digital Badges for your LinkedIn awarded by the Global No.1 Business Incubator -SETsquared Partnership

  • Make friends, meet potential future employers and gain real-world work experience

There is no deadline to apply to IKEEP but the sooner you apply the sooner you can be included in the next training cohort! Online training runs regularly but there are only a few placement cohorts remaining. If you are interested in taking part click the ‘Apply Now’ button above.

You must complete a placement before you graduate if you wish to received the £450 stipend.
